A new year, a new school, a new challenge!

The Cathedral School is a vibrant, happy and oversubscribed school whose distinctive Christian ethos is fundamental to its identity. The school, which is located in the heart of England's newest city, has close ties to the Cathedral and, along with the Cathedral, shares the city's sense of excitement for the future.

Due to the retirement of our current Headteacher, Governors wish to appoint an exceptional leader who will be able to build on the strong foundations already in place to move our school from good to outstanding.

You will have:

• A clear vision and commitment to Christian education

• A high regard for the personal achievement of each child

• A clear vision of excellence in primary education

• The ability to think strategically and the drive to achieve outstanding

• A commitment to maintain and develop the rich extra-curricular offering, in which music is particularly important to the spiritual development of the pupils

• Proven leadership and management skills.

We can offer you:

• Children who are articulate, proud of their achievements, keen to learn and whose behaviour is outstanding

• A distributive leadership team and dedicated teaching and support staff

• The opportunity to influence the direction of the Cathedral School and education within Chelmsford

• The opportunity for personal development within a supportive network of Diocesan and local schools

• Supportive Governors who provide a good level of challenge and who are proud of their school

• A happy, caring and encouraging environment for learning, underpinned by a strong Christian ethos.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact Sue Hayes, Office Manager on 01245 354459 or by email at office@cathedralschool.essex.sch.uk

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
