The Deanes Sports Centre, based in the grounds of The Deanes school, is a community sports hub that opens its doors to the public at 4pm on weekdays and 8am on weekends. Facilities include a 3G Football facility, indoor tennis courts, fitness suite, gymnasium and an indoor sports hall offering badminton, 5 a side football pitch, plus much more.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at The Deanes Sport Centre, supporting the Sports Centre Manager (SCM) in the day to day running of the centre, including deputising in their absence. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the SCM to ensure an efficient service is provided to all Sports Centre users.
This is an administrative role which includes promoting the activities of the Sports Centre, the organisation of the letting facilities, arranging work schedules for the Sports Centre staff and co-ordination of the highly successful holiday camps. You will also have regular contact with Sports Centre members and other members of the public. We are looking for applicants who are well organised, have the ability to prioritise a busy workload, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and can demonstrate a professional manner. A keen interest in sport and exercise is also desirable.
The Sports Centre is open to the public outside school hours, therefore the core hours of work during term time will beMonday - Friday 3pm - 10pm and one weekend day between the hours of 8am - 6pm.During the school holidays, the sports centre operates holiday camps so there will be more flexibility in the working hours. This will be discussed further at interview.

The Deanes is well situated in South East Essex, with good links to public transport. We are situated within ten minutes of Benfleet and Rayleigh Rail Stations, where a 45 minute train journey will take you into London. There is also ample car parking onsite.
