1-1 Teaching Assistant
Part-time, Fixed Term Contract to 31 August 2027
Hours: 5 afternoons per week, 12.15-15.15. Term Time
Salary: Scale 3 Points 5-6 £23,500-£23,893 Actual salary £7,967

St Peter's C of E Primary School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 child with social, emotional and mental health needs. The role is to start in May 2024.
You will need to work alongside the Class Teacher, SENCO and family to provide effective emotional and academic support, personal development and guidance. You will be required to complete daily play interactions and follow a personalised engagement plan in order to support the child to access the curriculum. Support will be provided for the suitable candidate for all the above requirements.
You will need to be able to communicate and build good relationships with both the child and their family.
The ideal candidate will:
· Have a good understanding of the early years and primary curriculum
· A firm understanding of the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements of working in such a role
· Be able to take direction from a range of stakeholders and be adaptable in your approach
· Have a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs and the commitment that children are at the centre of everything you do
· Excellent communication skills with children, their families and your colleagues
· Experience with supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs
· Be able to work within the Christian ethos of the school
