ARE YOU AN ENTHUSIASTIC AND ENGAGING GCSE MATHS TUTOR? - IF SO WE NEED YOU

This post is based at our Southend City College "We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate maths lecturer with high level technical abilities to contribute to innovating maths delivery, and enable the College to become a centre of excellence. Reporting to the Quality Improvement & Education Managers you will be responsible for implementing teaching strategies to enable students to develop skills in maths and achieve high grades. The successful applicant will be passionate about teaching maths and developing students skills and knowledge which is not only general maths but maths to support everyday life. You will be responsible for teaching maths to at least GCSE Level and act as a role model and work with other teaching staff to develop their technical teaching skills. Our students join us from a variety of education areas having had varying education experiences. These include, secondary education, home educated or through adult education where they have not achieved the basic level of a Grade C or Grade 4/5 maths as a standard qualification. Some require maths qualifications to progress to the next level of education whilst others require the qualification to enable them to progress in their work life or chosen career. Some may have no interest or have lost interest in the subject, but need the qualification. As part of their study programmes, it is essential they undertake their maths qualifications and are seeking your expertise to help them to achieve their goals and career aspirations. Candidates must have proven successful experience of teaching KS4/ KS5 and above with outstanding value added outcomes within public or private sector, alongside experience enabling students to achieve higher grades. A degree in maths or statistics is essential
