Description
Broomgrove Junior School is a two-form entry school with eight classes catering for children aged 7-11 yrs. The school was opened in 1971 and shares its site with Broomgrove Infant School.
The school is proud to call itself ‘inclusive’ and aims to make provision for the needs of every individual child.
The school participates in many local community events such as the Colchester Fire Swim, Wivenhoe Open Gardens, and the choir sing regularly at the parish church on special occasions. The school is also hired out in the evenings to several local groups including the Colne Bank School of Dance.
Along with other local Primary and Junior schools, Broomgrove Junior School has strong links with the Colne Community School and College in Brightlingsea, the local secondary school. This includes participation in music and sporting events, and specific festivals organised by the Colne for their linked schools. Within this cluster of schools, training is shared by both staff and governors. The Mid Tendring Education Partnership provides many traded services which support the school in a variety of ways.
