Passionate Early Years Educator required to join our bank cover team during term time only.

A full and relevant level 3 qualification is essential for this post, as is previous experience working in a childcare setting and sound Safeguarding knowledge. Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene qualifications are desirable but not essential.

You will be needed to cover staff absence, training, 1:1 etc, possibly at short notice. The role will require flexibility and adaptability.

You will work as part of the pre-school team to provide safe, high-quality education and care; as well as working using your own initiative. Being creative and patient and a willingness to help shape the lives of our preschool children are assets we are looking for, along with a good sense of humour.

A good command of spoken and written English is important.

You would work under the direction of the pre-school room leaders and give support to other staff within the setting.

Our setting is open term time only between the hours of 8.15am and 3.00pm. Cover may be required during these hours. Uniform will be provided.

Information about the School

Writtle Green preschool is a registered charity, number 1023360. The charity has a committee of Trustees who are registered with Ofsted. Last inspection was November 2018, graded good, registration 650172.

The preschool is open to children aged 2-4 years, from 8.30am to 2.45pm, and operates term time only. (Same term dates as the infant & junior schools in Writtle with whom we enjoy a close relationship)

Our purpose built home is within The Beryl Platt community centre which was completed and opened in September 2020. We have a large dedicated, secure outdoor play area, laid mainly to Astro turf. An area is also set aside for story telling/gardening. There is a mud kitchen, large sand pit and a music den, as well as climbing equipment, reading den and the popular race track.

We have a maximum of 18 places/morning session and currently have a waiting list. (19 in the afternoon session for children aged 3years +))
