We are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistant to work at Silver End Academy, initially for this academic year, (linked to funding), with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with additional needs.
- Assist with intimate care tasks, including toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene, ensuring the dignity and privacy of the student at all times.
- Support the implementation of an Education and Health Care plan
The working hours for this position are 24.5 hours per week, the working pattern is 8.45am - 2.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8.45am - 2.30pm on a Friday. (15-minute morning break and 1-hour lunch break).
Salary: Scale 3, point 5, £12,982 per annum.
Applicants should have experience working with children in a school environment. It is essential that you hold GCSEs (grades A-C) in both Maths and English, or hold equivalent qualifications in this area.
Successful applicants will join our friendly, caring and highly competent team of learning support staff.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of different personalities and skill levels.
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to provide intimate care in a respectful and sensitive manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Able to work under your own initiative.
- Smartly presented and with excellent time management skills.
