Position Type: General School Support Assistant (Chapel Hill Primary School & Nursery, Basildon SS16 5NQ)
Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Hours: 27.5 hrs per week (Term Time only)
Salary: Essex School's Pay Scale - Scale 1 Spine Point 2 - actual starting salary £14,329 per annum (including fringe but exluding pending 2024 pay award)
Working Pattern: 9:00am-2:45pm Monday to Friday (with a 15 minute unpaid break)
Chapel Hill Primary School, the sister school to the Outstanding Lee Chapel Primary School, is opening in September 2024 and is looking to appoint an enthusiastic general school support assistant. Once all year groups are admitted, the school will be 2-form entry with 420 pupils, however it will be opening at a reduced capacity in September 2024.
The successful candidate will be enthusiasic, flexible and pro-active. This is a new role which will evolve once the school opens. We are looking for someone who is willing to "muck" in and become an integral part of the school team. Duties will include:
- Preparing dinner tables, trays, and cutlery for school meals service.
- Preparing drinks for lunchtime service.
- Serving school meals.
- Washing-up children's dinner trays and cutlery and any serving containers and utensils.
- Assisting and supervising at playtime and lunchtime (after food service is complete), ensuring the children's safety and wellbeing.
- Monitoring stock levels and preparing tuck for sale at breaktime.
- Supporting the morning cleaner and Site Manager by completing general daytime cleaning tasks i.e.hoovering carpets and dealing with spillages etc. in dining hall.
- Assisting the Receptionist/Administrator with the delivery of parcels around the school and nursery andother ad hoc tasks.
- Assisting the Headteacher/Site Manager with ad hoc tasks, as necessary.
