SITE MANAGER
Required 1st July 2024 - or as soon as possible thereafter
37 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year (holidays to be taken in school closure periods)
Actual salary: £25119 - £26421
Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 10.15 a.m. - 6.15 p.m. (with 30 minutes lunchbreak), Friday 10.45 a.m. - 6.15 p.m. (with 30 minutes lunchbreak); (flexibility may be required for special events etc.)
We are seeking to appoint a reliable, hardworking and trustworthy individual to join our team as Site Manager, who will ensure that our children have a safe and secure place to learn and play. This is due to the retirement of our current Site Manager.
The successful candidate will ensure the safe operation of the school by carrying out a range of duties including management of statutory compliance, health and safety, general maintenance and supervision of contractors.
You will be
- flexible in your work
- have good general maintenance and DIY skills (for example, decorating, carpentry, plumbing)
- have good communication skills, as you will be liaising with contractors and tradesman as well as pupils, staff, governors and parents
- take pride in your work and be able to use your initiative
Ideally you should also have an awareness of COSHH, safe manual handling practices and Health and Safety requirements. Prior experience in a similar setting is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided. A full driving licence and use of own car is essential as you may be required to attend outside of normal working hours. Myland Primary School is ideally located close to the A12 for good transport links.
Other duties will include locking and unlocking the premises, being a primary key holder, attending call outs, maintenance duties, maintaining stocks of materials, general porterage, record keeping, legionella testing (training will be given) and managing day to day Health and Safety compliance.
