We wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support a little boy with a diagnosis of autism who needs help with his learning and to make good behaviour choices while in school. As the successful applicant, you will need to have a patient, positive and kind attitude, with excellent communication skills, a genuine love of working with children and be able to build rapport quickly. The role will incorporate supporting the child to transition around the school site and between lessons, helping deliver interventions to support the emotional and learning needs of the child and supporting them to build relationships with their peers. Working as part of a team, you will need to be calm, flexible and dedicated. Although you will be working mainly with this one pupil, you will also be working alongside other childrenwhen directed to support their learning. The successful candidate will receive training in line with the child's needs.
The hours are 8.45am-3.15pm, 30 hours a week (with 30 minute lunch break) Scale 3 Point 5 £23,500- Point 6 £23,893 pro rata which is £15,933- Point 6 £16,200 (there is a proposed increment yet to be agreed by the unions of £1290 to each point which will be back dated to April 2024.) We hope that the successful candidate will be able to start with us after the Summer holiday, but we will happily negotiate amutually convenient start date for the right candidate.
