We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor
Permanent contract.
Salary - Point 5 £21,575 FTE (actual salary £11,686)
23 hours, 45 mins a week (8.30am-1.15pm) Term Time only
Start date: asap
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join our friendly school based in Rayleigh, Essex. The successful applicant will support individuals and small groups of pupils across the school to overcome barriers to learning and engage positively with school life.
They will actively promote the development of the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of pupils and will provide support for identified pupils throughout the school day, including morning break and lunch times.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- a 'can do' attitude
- experience of working in a primary school classroom
- excellent and varied behaviour management skills
- experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs
- a commitment to delivering education of the highest standard
- creative ideas which can contribute to the planning of activities
- confidence in making judgments about children's abilities and provide insightful and useful observations
- the ability to build a strong professional relationship with the children and their families
- the ability to communicate with other members of staff effectively
- excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and able to demonstrate high expectations of achievement for all pupils
- the ability to work as part of a team but to act independently if required
- a willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks
- a warm and positive approach towards all children, staff, parents and carers
- a good sense of humour
Our Lady of Ransom and The Assisi Catholic Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks. You will be required, before appointment, to disclose any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
