Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking an experienced or aspiring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our talented and supportive team at St Francis Catholic Primary School. As an LSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pupils' educational, welfare and social needs, working collaboratively with our teaching staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children. These are great children! They are ready to learn, exceptionally well behaved, kind and inquisitive - they are keen to attend their safe and happy school and enjoy the care and support provided by all staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide small group and individual support, using your expertise to enhance the learning experience of our pupils
- Cover PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time for our teachers, ensuring seamless continuity of education - or working towards this dependent on experience
- Demonstrate a calm and fair approach, fostering positive relationships with our pupils
- Communicate effectively with teacher colleagues to best support the children
- Actively participate in the wider life of the school, contributing to the vibrant and inclusive Catholic community
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant LSA qualification or equivalent experience as an LSA
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- A good understanding of the educational, welfare, and social needs of primary school pupils
- Commitment to supporting children and promoting their academic, social and emotional development
Desirable Qualities:
- Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our pupils
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet the changing needs of our school
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Enthusiasm for continuing professional development and a willingness to learn and grow
- An understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school and willingness to support this in the daily life of the children
Hours, Salary and Benefits:
Hours 25 hours per school week - term time and 5 INSET days.
This position is offered on Scale 3, Band 5-6, with the opportunity for career progression and development within our supportive and nurturing environment.
