Job Description

Felmore Primary School has an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team in September 2024.

The hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute break, 32.5 hours per week. Term time only for 39 weeks per year (including 5 inset days)

Salary Scale 3 to Scale 4 (Range 5 to 8) Actual salary: £18,215 to £18,813 depending on qualifications and experience. (April 2024 pay rise pending) includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods.

We are looking for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 supporting a child with with autism and SEMH needs. You will also be required to support the pupil during lunchtime.

The ideal candidate will:

· have experience of working with a child who has sensory needs and has a good understanding of sensory issues.

· have Level 2 in Understanding Autism (AET) qualification or be willing to undertake this training.

· be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above and achieved GCSE English and Maths at Grade C / Level 4 or above

· deliver activities and interventions as required, under direction of the class teacher and SENCO/Head of Inclusion

· take advice and guidance from colleagues and other professionals

· communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff
