Reporting to the Network Manager, you will be responsible for providing frontline support for students and staff to ensure that academy IT systems are fully functioning at all times, maintaining IT Service Level. You will also contribute to the continued development of the Academy IT provision. This is a position in which you can grow and develop, and work closely in plans to develop the networks.
The system heavily uses both server and desktop virtualisation. The network is mainly Windows-based with management and delivery using Citrix Provisioning Services and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. Clients are a mixture of PCs running from a streamed central image and thin-clients accessing a virtual desktop using that same image. Our technology partner provides remote support and management as needed, so no existing experience of Citrix is necessary, but a desire to learn is required.
We use Google Apps for Education extensively to complement their internal networks. With over 500 devices, including desktops, laptops, ChromeBooks, iPads and iPhones, technology is essential in the day to day running of the academy.
The working hours for this position are 8am - 4pm Monday- Friday
If you have proven IT experience, a passion for constant learning and development and great customer service skills, we would love to hear from you!
