Due to the retirement of our long-standing Headteacher, an exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a committed leader to take our popular and successful school into its next chapter. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and dynamic Headteacher who can demonstrate that they hold our community ethos, high expectations for all pupils and caring school values in high regard.
We are a popular 2-form entry primary school (Single Academy Trust) with a maximum roll of 420 pupils. In our last Ofsted inspection (March 2019) we retained our 'Good' grading and we believe that we are still a 'Good' school.
We are looking for:
- An inspirational primary school leader who shares our values and ethos and can set a clear strategic direction which they are able to share with the Governing Body and all stakeholders
- A caring and experienced professional who is dedicated to providing the highest standards of education and preserving the good reputation of our school within the community
- An approachable and visible leader who can build positive relationships with all stakeholders and communicate effectively
- A naturally positive leader who can inspire, empower, motivate and support our talented and dedicated team of teachers and support staff
- A passion for exciting teaching and learning through a broad and balanced curriculum which is built on the local area, visits and visitors, practical experiences and high-quality teaching so that all our children can reach their full potential and maintain a love of learning
- A determined commitment to inclusion and equality for the whole school community
- A working knowledge and understanding of school finance, premises and Human Resources

Information about the School
South Benfleet Primary School is a well-established, successful school which is counting down to its 100th birthday in 2026! Many of our parents and grandparents were educated here and although teaching methods and curriculum content have changed over the years, our ethos hasn't. We take great pride in our reputation for being 'a friendly, caring, family school’. We have well behaved and engaged learners with great parental support.
The school has over 400 children on roll. We are a 2 form entry school with 14 classes and a total staff of over 60. We have no mixed age classes. We are located in the heart of South Benfleet with good access to local shops and transport links.
