We are seeking to appoint a passionate, experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at our creative, friendly primary school. The role will involve working alongside the class teachers and SENCo team to support learning and follow recommendations from outside agencies. You will be responsible for the efficient and effective support for a student with additional needs helping them to access learning and engage positively in the school environment

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with SEMH needs and in supporting a child in managing their emotions and behaviours. The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching staff to ensure that learning is accessible and appropriate for the child's abilities and to implement behaviour management strategies in line with the child's individual behaviour plan, working in line with our school behaviour policy.

The successful applicant will be someone with:

Experience with working with children with Social, emotional and mental health needs including diagnoses of ADHD, ODD
An understanding of children within an educational setting and the ability to support them effectively.
Be able to establish positive and trusting relationships with pupils, fostering a safe and supportive environment where they feel valued and understood.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
A commitment to achieving the best for every child.
Be highly motivated.
Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A-C or equivalent
The ability to follow direction but also be proactive and use own initiative
Patience, a sense of humour and flexibility are essential

Based in Great Dunmow, Essex, Dunmow St Mary's Primary School is a 2FE Foundation primary school with extensive grounds, including our own woodland area and outdoor classroom.
