We seek to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in our iMatter Centre to enhance the learning of students who have a wide range of social and emotional needs. Applicants must be friendly, enthusiastic and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
The iMatterCentre will provide individual and personalised support for students who cannot access a full curriculum offer. This may be for a variety of needs: mental health, medical, emotional or behavioural.
Students accessing the centre will have individual learning plans and timetables that will be continually reviewed and modified, with the purpose of aiming for a full integration in the school with full curriculum participation.
While attending the centre, these children will be following English and Maths curriculums, RSHE and PE sessions and specialised support for their individual needs. It is envisaged that outside agencies will be heavily involved and used to support the children with more complex needs.
The support received in the centre will have a direct benefit for the students attending, and indirectly support the other students in the school, as this intense support will not detract from the high levels of focus in lessons in the main school.
