Pay Range: Local Government Scale 5

Actual Salary from: £20,370 - £21,426 (Points 9 - 12)

Start Date: 2nd September 2024

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Colne Community School for an Associate Teacher to join our staff.

Our school is a community in which we believe everyone, students and staff alike, should have the opportunity to be nourished and grow. Therefore, we are seeking to recruit a proactive and forward thinking member of staff to enrich the skills and experience already present in our Associate Teacher Team. We aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and diligent.

Our school community is expanding which makes this a particularly unique and exciting time to join our team. We have a new teaching block consisting of 8 new classrooms and 4 specialist Design and Technology rooms fully equipped. A further large scale internal refurbishment took place over the 2022/23 academic year which has improved our school environment for all.

This post is 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days)

Should you be successful during the shortlisting process interviews will be held face to face at the school.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

· Supervise students engaged in learning activities.

· Provide objective and accurate feedback to the teacher on the conduct of the lesson.

· Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

· The ability to work calmly under pressure

· Excellent communication skills with adults and children, verbally and in writing

· Good literacy and numeracy skills
