We are a school dedicated to empowering young people with special educational needs to unlock their full potential. As we build upon our new Supported Internship program, we are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join us as the Supported Internship Manager and Job Coach.

Role Overview:

As the Supported Internship Job Coach, you will play a pivotal role in helping young individuals transition into the workforce. Your key responsibilities will include:


Supporting young people in developing essential skills for the workplace.
Building a professional network both within and outside the school to create employment opportunities.
Identifying and addressing support needs, and implementing effective strategies for each student.
Working in various settings to provide a holistic learning experience.
Ensuring the safeguarding of students in all activities and placements.
Conducting risk assessments for potential employment opportunities.
Boosting pupils' self-esteem and resilience within the community.
Providing travel training to enhance students' independence.

Requirements:

Solid understanding of the local labour market and the ability to confidently approach new businesses.
Previous experience working with individuals with SEN is essential.
A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational abilities and the capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Salary and Working Hours:
Scale 7 (points 19-24) Apr 23 pay scales.
Actual Salary: £26,761 - £29,613 per annum (FTE: £29,777 - £33,024).
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday various start and finish times, ranging between 8:30 start - 18:30 finish. 7.5 hr day in total (dependent on the work placement ).
Contract: 40 weeks per year.

Castledon School is a Special School for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional complex needs from Year 1 - Year 14.
