St Andrew's C of E Primary School is delighted to invite you apply to be part of our friendly and supportive team as a learning support assistant providing support to groups of children in class and also with children with SEND needing 1:1 support. We are a kind and caring school and pre-school, where our children's needs are at the heart of everything that we do. Our vision for our whole school community focuses on our three core values, 'Believe in Friendship', 'Inspire Courage' and 'Achieve Confidence' and through these we provide an inclusive and engaging curriculum for all children.

We are seeking a dynamic, caring and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting children to join us in achieving our vision for children from the moment they start with us at St Andrew's.

The successful applicant will work as part of our brilliant LSA team. All our LSAs are offer a mix of classroom support to all children and are dirceted during other times to work with children with SEND. They will be able to provide outstanding support to ensure children are engaged, happy and feel safe. Experience working with children in a primary school is essential and it would be desirable for the applicant to have had experience working with children with SEND. The position is for an LSA working across the primary age. Whilst we would place the sucessful applicant in a regular year group, there does need to be a willingness for all applicnats to work aross the primary age range EYFS-Year 6.

Applicants must have previous experience of working in a primary school age with children aged 4-11 years. This is essential for this role.

Applicants must be:

• Educated to Level 2 or have GCSE C/grade 4 or above in English and Maths

• Kind, caring and patient primary/early years practitioner with school based experience.

• Flexible within role, prepared to take on tasks as directed by SENCO and Phase Leader

• A team player able to adapt to the needs of the child and the school

• An awareness and compassionate understanding to inclusion

• A passion to promote the safety, wellbeing and education of young children

Information about the School

Dear Candidate Thank you for your interest in the position in our school.

St Andrew’s CE Primary School is situated in the village of North Weald, close to Epping. There are currently 361 pupils, age 4 – 11 years on roll plus a pre-school with 16 places for 3 to 4 year olds. The majority of our pupils live in the village of North Weald.

Class teachers are supported by a very experienced team of Learning Support Assistants, and HLTAs who also take on additional responsibilities within the school. We have an experienced SEND team who provide invaluable support for our children.

At St Andrews we are very proud of our inclusive, Christian ethos. We Believe in Friendship, Inspire Courage and Achieve Confidence.

Our last Ofsted inspection, in July 2023, judged our school as continuing to be Good in all areas. Whilst our website is very informative and will give you a flavour of our school, I would welcome visits to see the school in action.
