Classroom Support -SEND

Term time only plus 2 days for INSET -8:30am to 3:45pm Monday - Friday.

Salary:SCP 2 - SCP 5

FTE:£23,616 - £24,357

This post is not full time and as such, the actual salary will be pro rata i.e. proportional to the full-time salary indicated.

We are looking for applicants who:

  • Acts as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and behaviour.
  • Can think creatively to engage, enthuse and motivate children to learn.
  • Is passionate about supporting all pupils especially those with additional needs.
  • Is able to demonstrate empathy and understanding when working with those with complex needs.
  • Is confident and able to work with pupils with challenging needs, including social and emotional needs/behaviours.
  • Has a good understanding of how to support children with pastoral needs.
  • Is confident and able to support pupils in small groups and 1:1.
  • Works well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice.
  • Is an effective communicator with pupils and staff.
  • Possesses good Literacy and Numeracy skills.

Information about the School

West Thurrock Academy is a two-form school which currently has 450 children on role. The school is very spacious with a large hall for P.E, assemblies and school meals, plenty of outdoor learning zones and access to a good-sized field. The school also has a computer suite that is used by all classes within the school. The school is open and inclusive enabling our children to learn and explore in a safe and secure environment.

West Thurrock Academy is a Single Academy Trust with a Governing Body and a Members Board.

The school is currently rated Good with Ofsted, July 2022.
