The St. Christopher School is a specialist special school for Communication & Interaction for pupils aged 3 - 19. We work with a wide range of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, communication & interaction difficulties and a range of learning difficulties.
Since September 2017, The St. Christopher School has been a leading part in a newly established SEN Trust Southend Multi-Academy Trust. This gives a number of opportunities to work cooperatively across St. Nicholas School, Lancaster School and Kingsdown School.
We are seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2 teacher to work with mixed groups of pupils with a variety of complex learning difficulties, mainly ASD and severe learning difficulties, who will be responsible for classes of up to 12 children and able to teach all subjects.
Our teachers must be enthusiastic, hard-working and show a genuine interest in working with pupils with special educational needs. They must be able to motivate the team of support staff that work with them and be committed to the whole school teamwork ethos. The school provides access to high quality training for staff.
School roll October 2019 - 240 pupils aged 5 - 19.
Salary: Mainscale/UPS +1 SEN point (second SEN point dependent on advanced qualifications).

SEN Trust Southend opened as a formal partnership on 1 September 2017. The four special schools, The St. Christopher School, Kingsdown School, Lancaster School and St. Nicholas School have always worked closely together to create a strong group of special schools which aim to meet the majority of needs of those pupils who require specialist support in a specialist educational school with Southend. We created the Multi-Academy Trust to help us continue this work.
