We are looking to recruit a highly personable teacher to join our dedicated teaching team and become part of the St. Nicholas School family from September 25 (or 1st July if possible) This is initally for a 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. *
Depending on the skill set of the successful candidate:
The post could involve working with our Life Skills students and would suit someone with either:
· Primary teaching experience, especially Early Years / KS1 or
· Experience of working with SLD or PMLD
OR
The post could involve working in KS3 and would suit someone with either:
· Mainstream primary teaching experience in KS1 and/or KS2
· Previous special school experience
Whatever your experience of either might be, we ultimately need staff who are:

· Passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with SEND

Information about the School
St Nicholas School is an academy special school, situated in Southend-on-Sea, which is part of the SEN Trust Southend. The school offers a quality, inclusive education for secondary aged students (11-16). Our students all have a range of learning needs and enter the school with a statement of Educational Needs, or an Educational Health & Care Plan.
It is our aim to encourage every student to achieve their full potential, to become an independent adult and an active member of their local community, relative to their ability.
