We are looking to appoint either an experienced SENDCO, or an outstanding teacher who would like to start their career and qualification in SEN.

We are a large, but not impersonal, school. The SENDCO here would be supported by an extensive Inclusion team: SENDCO Assistant; Inclusion Officer; Behaviour & Realtionship Lead; Thrive Practitioner. The team meet every week to triage new cases, discuss plans and evaluate current provisions. We are a truly inclusive school, with few suspensions, no exlclusions and pre-emptive care as our prime approach. At our recent Ofsted we achieved 'outstanding' for Personal Development, Leadership and Management and Behaviour & Attitudes. We provide children with the care and support they need at the right time.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Committed to providing children with SEND an outstanding education
  • A strong leader who can enthuse and inspire the team
  • Efficient and organised
  • Confident to support colleagues in meeting pupils' needs
  • A determined advocate for SEND children when dealing with external agencies
  • Trauma informed and committed to establishing positive relationships
  • An excellent communicator

We can offer:

  • A strong sense of community
  • A hardworking and dedicated team
  • A supportive leadership team and Governing Body

We would love to meet you before application, so come along and take a tour of the school. We can't wait to meet the next member of the team.

Information about the School

In September 2018, Brightlingsea Infant School & Nursery and Brightlingsea Junior School became Brightlingsea Primary School and Nursery. We are a large Primary School, taking children from 2 to 11 years, with a three form entry and approximately 750 children on roll. This is an exciting time for our school and we are looking to further improve outcomes for our children and families. As a large school we are able to offer some exciting opportunities for staff: we recognise the importance of professional development and believe in investing in staff to help us to achieve our vision.

We are an inclusive school and strive to deliver a fully accessible social and academic curriculum. Our aim is for all pupils to achieve their full potential. We provide a welcoming, caring and supportive environment, which allows children to develop socially, emotionally and academically. All our staff play an important part in children's development. Parents are actively encouraged to take a vested interest in the school, so that together, school, parents and children can work together in partnership.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
