We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented member of staff to join our growing Health Sciences team at Harlow College. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills while supporting and inspiring the next generation by working in Further Education. Working in a vibrant and positive learning environment, you will play a key role in supporting the teaching of practical activities in our Science Laboratories and working on small scale commercial activities linking teaching to industry directly.

The College was lucky enough to achieve an Institute of Technology status in 2022 with the aim of providing level 4 and 5 level STEM based provision for our local community. In September 2023 our new IOT building opening to include a brand-new science lab, totalling our science labs to seven across the campus. With a growth in science-based courses, higher level provision and additional labs, we are now seeking an apprentice technician to support this growth.

The technician role includes supporting teachers with delivery of lessons, whether that be setting up equipment, working with learners individually or completing demonstrations. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment and supporting science teachers in the laboratories; contributing to a professional and efficient working environment.

You must have a Level 2 science qualification and GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). Some industry experience is preferred but not essential as is a Level 3 Science qualification. As part of the role, you will be studying to complete a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship.
