Maternity Cover start date 4th November 2024, although a September start date would be considered.

Fantastic opportunity to make a difference to young people!

We are looking for a talented, part time teacher of PSE, Careers and Enrichment, who can deliver this curriculum of learning up to QFC Level 2, to students who thrive through positive relationships and who learn differently.

This is a significant role in a small, unique school that has achieved Trauma Informed School status, Attachment Aware status and has been recently awarded Autism Specialist accreditation. The salary for the role is determined by individual factors bespoke to the unique context of our setting: the benefits of very small class sizes and the associated reduction in lesson preparation and marking time; a relatively short timetabled day; and additional support, advice and guidance associated with working in a small, experienced and trained team. Please see the job description and person specification for further details.

Experience a hugely rewarding and flexible working environment: classes of 3, lots of relationship-building, shorter working day, less paperwork, fun and supportive team. This is the chance to manage your PSE/RSE curriculum and Careers advice, as well as delivering appropriate learning in at least one other enrichment subject, in a very small, bespoke and unique provision that really cares for our students.

If you are inspirational, resilient, hard-working and flexible, then join our very small and nurturing alternative provision school. You must be passionate about supporting our students to achieve the best outcomes possible and be able to deliver high quality education and support for young people aged 14-16 with a range of complex educational and SEMH needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of all PSE/RSE teaching for all students, and will become part of a skilled, supportive and friendly team of professionals who work together with care to provide education for young people who have experienced trauma, rejection and exclusion. Our aim is to promote healing, wholeness and hope for the future; acceptance as part of a nurturing community; and opportunities for achievement for those whose needs have not been met in mainstream education.

What we can offer you:

· A significant role as the school's PSE teacher in a caring, professional and collaborative team of 13 staff members who are dedicated to the success and welfare of our small cohort of KS4 students.

· The chance to be part of a successful alternative provision school that is dedicated to supporting young people who have experienced trauma, rejection and exclusion or whose needs have not been previously met, by providing opportunities for achievement, acceptance as part of a community and hope for the future.

· A small, busy, friendly, supportive and caring working environment.

· Comparatively short working day, one-to-one and very small class teaching, reduced administration and marking

This is an exciting time to join our team as we continue to develop innovative ways to meet the complex needs of young people who have been unable to find a home in the mainstream system for a wide range of reasons, and as we continually strive to provide high quality, nurturing and bespoke alternative provision.

Please email your completed application form and covering letter to the Principal, Mrs Alison Dolan at: adolan@openboxeducation.org.uk or send to Open Box Education Centre, St John's Road, Epping, Essex, CM16 5DN.
