Woodlands Schools Ltd comprises independent preparatory schools and day nurseries at both Great Warley and Hutton Manor in Brentwood. We are seeking to appoint a professional, experienced and highly motivated individual to support the Bursar (based at our Head Office, Hutton Manor) in the task of managing the business administration of the schools, with emphasis on HR, Safeguarding and Compliance alongside the day to day running of the Head Office with an element of financial management.
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced all-round Administrative Officer who is currently working or has previously worked either in a bursarial role or in the capacity of a Senior Administration Manager, Business Manager, Executive Assistant, Practice Manager, HR Officer or Office Manager. This will ideally, but not necessarily, be within a school or other educational environment. Candidates should hold a minimum of 5 years' experience working at senior level within an office environment and be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of HR policies and procedures and recruitment and selection. You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) together with a sound knowledge of database management. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Liaison with the schools' external HR consultant over the execution of all routine HR procedures and practices in line with current employment law and legislation
Advising senior managers on compliance matters including GDPR and Safeguarding issues
Acting as Deputy Bursar in the Bursar's absence and dealing with any matters that arise, including aspects of financial management
Overseeing the smooth operation of the school uniform department and on-line shop facility
The general management of Head Office
Hours: 8.30am to 5pm (with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
Monday to Friday including school holidays
Salary: £30K
