Inspires MAT (Multi Academy Trust) are seeking an innovative practitioner to work within the newly accredited SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) enhanced provision at Templars Academy, Witham. They will be highly experienced, positive and work highly effectively with the provision lead.

The provision aims to support children's SEMH needs within a designated period so that they are successful and can return to their 'home school' within a year, working in partnership with the Local Authority to support those students across mid Essex who find engagement with mainstream education a significant challenge.

We are seeking a practitioner who will further enhance the learning experience for children, support their development and help them develop as well-rounded individuals. They will also be expected to deputise for the provision lead as required.

In order to do this, we are seeking an individual who has:

  • An excellent understanding of teaching and learning
  • Both resilience and hopefulness in abundance
  • An appreciation for the importance of connection and belonging
  • A determination to build spirit and develop emotional strength in young people
  • A willingness to develop outreach work within the primary phase

The successful candidate will work closely with the lead practitioner to establish this provision's standing within the mid-Essex community of schools.

Students will each have a bespoke programme of support built around them in conjunction with their ongoing primary school in order to fully support their success upon reintegration

Successful candidates will:

  • Be up to date with current SEMH practice and national curriculum and assessment expectations
  • Be highly motivated and have consistently high expectations of themselves and others
  • Be committed to high standards of learning, teaching and behaviour
  • Be a good communicator and highly organised individual
  • Be an outstanding, skilled classroom practitioner
  • Have an industrious attitude to their role
  • Hold A-C Grades or equivalent in both Maths & English
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Learning Support

We can offer you:

  • engaging and enthusiastic pupils who will make you smile each day
  • a commitment to personal professional development which is tangible
  • the opportunity to develop leadership skills and a bespoke career pathway
  • a supportive school team that understands and foster well-being
  • a stimulating and enjoyable working environment where each day is engaging and thoroughly enjoyable

Visits to Templars Academy are encouraged. Please contact the school office on 01376 513477 to arrange an appointment.
