Housekeeper
26.25 hours per week
Weeks Per Year: 44.8
(38 weeks term time, 1 week INSET days, 1 week in the summer vacation period)
Monday to Friday 07:30 to 12:45
£11.44 per hour, £13,453 per annum
The King Edmund School is looking to appoint a Housekeeper to provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for the pupils and staff of the school. We require someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, reliable and dependable.
The successful candidate will be solely responsible for the twice daily cleaning and maintenance of all student toilet facilities at The King Edmund School. Duties will include:
- Vacuuming, toilet cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, some health and safety duties, as well as opening and closing of the Centre before and after the cleaning duty.
- Liaising with the site manager to report any damage or graffiti to property
Previous experience of a similar role would be an advantage, however, not essential, as on the job training will be provided.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the general operation of a school environment, basic health and safety and safeguarding matters. A flexible and adaptable attitude is essential, as well as a friendly and approachable manner, with the ability to be firm but fair with students as appropriate.
