Salary: Essex School's Pay Scale - Scale 2 Spine Point 3 - actual starting salary £8,317 (including fringe but excluding pending 2024 pay award)

Working Pattern:Flexible - to be discussed at interview. Hybrid working a possibility following completion of successful probationary period

Chapel Hill Primary School, the sister school to the Outstanding Lee Chapel Primary School, is opening in September 2024 and is looking to appoint an experienced Clerical/Administrative Assistant to join their brand new office. Once all year groups are admitted, the school will be 2-form entry with 420 pupils, however it will be opening at a reduced capacity in September 2024.

We are seeking a professional, experienced clerical/administrative assistant with first class typing skills to join our team to provide support to the Headteacher. You must be able to prioritise your own workload, work quickly and confidently under pressure and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Applicants must have a good, all-round education and a solid work history in secretarial/administrative roles with a typing speed of at least 65wpm (typing speed will be tested at interview). You must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office packages, especially Word, Outlook and Excel and must demonstrate excellent organisational skills. Knowledge of SIMS would be desirable but training will be given to the right candidate.

The successful candidate will undertake the following duties:-

  • Providing typing support for the Headteacher.
  • Assisting the Headteacher with the management of the school diary (adding diary entries such as meetings, staff appointments, etc.)
  • Editing of half-termly 'Good News' and end of year 'Commendation' letters at the direction of the Headteacher.
  • Proof-reading and editing documents from the Headteacher.
  • Clerical and administrative support to the Headteacher as directed.

Full training will be given to the successful candidate.
