Attendance Officer at Purfleet Primary Academy
Post: Attendance Officer, Full time, Term time only, Permanent contract. Commencing September 2024
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: NJC SCP 7-10, £24,440 - £25,685 FTE (to be pro rata to actual hours and weeks worked)
Purfleet Primary Academy has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the school and REAch2 Academy Trust as an Attendance Officer. The role will involve working closely with the school office and Pastoral teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in building strong relationships with families and external agencies, working collaboratively with them to improve attendance across the academy.
The general duties for this role are to:
Be responsible for the daily oversight of all attendance, absence and lateness
Monitor and track attendance across the academy, including identified pupils who are of concern
Support parents with attendance strategies (this may include home visits to support positive attendance)
Attend review meetings with the Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Attitudes to review whole-school attendance and identify strategies to improve this.
Carry out parent contract meetings where pupils are persistently absent
Support pupils with medical needs and other issues which prevent full-time attendance by liaising with staff, parents/carers and other professionals to provide pupils with missed schoolwork.
Attend relevant meetings regarding the wellbeing of specific pupils
