Merrylands Primary School and Nursery has an exciting opportunity for an Family Support Officer to join the team as soon as possible.

The hours are 8:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday - 35 hours per week term time plus INSET days (39 weeks per year).

Salary: Scale 6, Point 13 (Range 13-17) Actual Starting Salary £22,351 per annum (April 2024 pay rise pending), which includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods.

We are looking to appoint an reliable, enthusiastic and flexible Family Support Officer to work alongside key staff and external agencies to support pupils and parents/carers (particularly vulnerable families), as well as supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead and the Attendance Officer.

The applicant should have a GCSE in Maths and English to a minimum of Grade C or level 4. School Experience is desirable.

The ideal candidate will:

· be passionate about supporting all pupils and their families, demonstrating empathy and understanding of different needs

· have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with all school stakeholders

· have strong organisational skills and be able to prioritise effectively

· be able to work as part of team as well as using their own initiative
