Are you looking to take on a Behaviour Mentor Position?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Inclusion Team as our new Behaviour Mentor. You will be delivering the best support to our pupils, addressing the needs of children who require our help and support to remove barriers to their opportunities for success in school.

The Behaviour Mentor will be classroom based as well as working with children on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups.

Key responsibilities

· To oversee the provision for pupils with SEMH needs across the school.

· To work closely with the Inclusion Team to put provisions in place for named students regularly assessing students' needs and progress.

· To pro-actively assess children and plan targeted intervention to meet their need

· To support teachers and support staff with strategies to meet the needs of pupils in class

· To respond to any behaviour calls and de-escalate any situations that may arise

· To work with parents and carers to develop strategies to effectively meet their children's needs and help them achieve in school

· To develop relationships with external agencies and providers to implement provision when necessary.

· To be responsible for the afternoon Nurture Support Base.

Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery is a two form entry primary school with a 52 place nursery. Occupying a large site close to the A127 with extensive grounds and facilities, we are part of the South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT).
