We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated person who is a specialist in the secondary phase to provide strong and dynamic leadership for our NESTT Essex secondary initial teacher training programmes. The post will be based in Wickford but frequent travel across Essex will be required.

Norfolk, Essex and Suffolk Teacher Training (NESTT) was formed in September 2024 when BEC Teacher Training and Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT merged. NESTT offers popular and individualised routes into initial teacher training across the primary and secondary age phases.

You will work collaboratively with the NESTT Suffolk and Norfolk Secondary Director and lead our Essex secondary provision. You will have:

• successful experience with working with secondary trainee teachers

• A proven track record as an inspirational leader

• A track record of successful teaching within the secondary phase

• A track record in initiative and innovation leading to positive outcomes

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and training skills.

Information about the School

Our school is making rapid progress since its inspection in November 2022. A recent review by the Local Authority commented on the ‘sea change’ noted in students’ behaviour and the culture and ethos of the school. Our 2023 outcomes were the best set of Key Stage 4 results achieved by Year 11 students since 2016. Our Year 7 intake continues to be oversubscribed, with a waiting list.
