St Teresa's Catholic Primary School is a one form entry school located in Basildon. We were last inspected in October 2021 and received a judgement of 'Good'.

We are very proud of our pupils who are polite, kind to one another and keen to learn. They appreciate everything that is done for them.

Who are we looking for?

We wish to appoint an Early Years assistant to work as specifically as part of our EYFS team, across our nursery setting and reception class.

We are looking for somebody with commitment, energy and drive to join our dedicated, friendly team and work closely with us to provide positive learning experiences for our pupils.

What experience are we looking for?

Experience and/or specific training in supporting younger children as well as children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.

What qualifications are desirable?

This post is suitable for experienced or recently qualified early years practitioners (Level 3). (Please note that if your level 3 course was passed after 2014, you must also demonstrate that you have passed GCSE maths and English.)

We would be extremely interested in meeting candidates with a level 6 certificate (perhaps those with a university degree in "Early Childhood Studies" or equivalent.)

Applicants who do not have a level three early years certificate, but who are experienced in working in an early years setting are also welcome to apply.

What is the salary?

"The full time equivalent" is between£23,426-£23,803 (depending on experience and qualification.)

The actual salary is £18,615.19-£18,914.77 pounds per annum (Based on a 35 hour week over the teaching weeks of a year)


This is initiallyfixed term but has potential to become a permanent position, based on continued school funding and nursery numbers

Opportunities may exist to enhance salary advertised through provision of additional activities such as supporting after school clubs.

What are the hours and holidays?

The post is advertised for a full time worker working from the beginning of the school day until the end. The working pattern would include 7.45am (Supporting a breakfast club) up until 3.15pm (Covering up until the end of the school day and supporting the class teacher organise the classroom for the next day.)

The school may have some flexibility for the right candidate, wishing to work three or four days as opposed to five.

The school may have some flexibility for the right candidate wishing to start at 8.30am, and working less hours as a result.

The school holidays and inset days are all holiday days.
