SEN Resource Base Lead

32.5 hours per week (8:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday, term time only) plus staff/ parent meetings when required.

Actual salary - £26,618 - £27,221 pa (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Initial contract - 1 year fixed (potential to extend dependent upon successful completion of probationary period and ongoing budgets).

St Mary's Prittlewell, Church of England Primary School is at the heart of our community, with the flourishing of our community at its heart.

We are looking to employ a HLTA or experienced LSA to lead our new SEN Resource base for pupils at our East Street site (Years R and 1).

The successful applicant will:

· Fully support child protection and safeguarding procedures.

· Have experience of supporting pupils with high levels of SEND including ASD and those who are non/Pre-Verbal.

· Have a calm, patient and positive approach to working with children with SEND.

· Be resilient, have a positive "can do" attitude and the ability to see the humour in all situations.

· Have a good understanding of child development and a range of issues particularly those concerning communication and language.

· Have an understanding or awareness of SEN issues and how best to overcome barriers to learning.

· Liaise closely with Class Teachers, SENCo and Senior Leaders to deliver Pre-National Curriculum/ EYFS and specific intervention programmes.

· Show initiative and the willingness to lead a team of support staff effectively.

· Have a good standard of literacy and numeracy (Must have A-C GCSE Maths and English)

· Contribute to the spiritual development of children and our community.

Candidates who have a degree, HLTA status or other equivalent qualification (or currently studying towards this) would be preferred (but not essential).
