Behaviour Support Worker for SEMH Provision
Pay Range: Local Government Pay Scale 4, Points 7-8
Actual Salary from: £16,433 - £16,709
Start Date: As soon as possible
The Role
We are seeking an outstanding individual to join our team at Alton Park Junior School as a Behaviour Support Worker working within our SEMH provision. The role is to provide high quality specialist support for Key Stage 2 (KS2) children (individually and/or in small groups) whose needs are related to social and emotional wellbeing.
- This post is 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only). The working pattern is 8:30am to 15:30pm Monday to Friday.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the SEND teacher with the planning and structuring of the learning experience which will promote more positive behaviour drawing on specialist skills and knowledge enabling effective response to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assisting colleagues to access information and knowledge to provide the best support for SEMH children.
- Helping the child/children to be more confident and independent learners.
- Supporting successful integration to the mainstream classroom.

We're looking for you if you:
- Have successful experience of working with or supporting children with SEMH needs
- The ability to establish rapport and respectful and trusting relationships with children, their families and carers and other adults
- Are able to demonstrate that you encourage the inclusion of pupils with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties in a mainstream school setting.
