We havea position for a Learning Support Assistant providing 1 to 1 support :

5 days Monday to Friday 8:45 - 3:15pm

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking learning support assistant to support children within a small group, and on a 1:1 basis in class support.

In addition to your role in class, you will be expected to:

· Work alongside the class teacher to plan and prepare or adapt resources for key children.

· Work alongside external agencies, and apply any advice in to classroom practice (e.g the Educational Psychologist or Speech and Language Therapist)

· Attend meetings such as 'One Plans' and annual reviews.

· Support pupils at lunch, carry out break duties.

· Carry out any duties as directed by the class teacher, Senior Leadership team or Head Teacher as required.

The school is committed to Safeguarding and all appointments will be subject to receipt of all relevant checks and a clear DBS.

Have a good standard of English and Maths (to GCSE level)

Have relevant knowledge of Safeguarding procedures and why these are important

Clearly enjoy being with children and supporting them to achieve their best

Have an ability to work independently using own initiative

Be physically fit due to physical demands of post

Be patient, empathetic and understanding

Be able to work well as part of team

Accept advice and direction with a willingness to act upon this

Be flexible and adaptable

Be respectful of confidentiality

Ensure high standards in behaviour and pupil learning working in accordance with school policies

Be willing to attend training and demonstrate a commitment to professional development

Desirable

  • Child Care or LSA qualifications to NVQ level 2 or above
  • First aid certificates
  • Training and understanding of the key principles of Trauma Perceptive Practice.
  • TPP & PRICE trained.
