Due to internal staff development and organisational growth, we are looking to recruit Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work alongside our young people.

Core Purpose:

  • To provide learning activities for students under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher
  • To plan, prepare and deliver learning activities and assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment

Duties:

  • To deliver learning planned by the hub teacher when covering their absence in order to provide consistent management approaches for students
  • To plan and deliver learning under the supervision of the hub teacher
  • To plan and deliver learning independently when required and where appropriate
  • To organise and manage appropriate environment
  • To monitor and evaluate student responses to activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against pre-determined objectives
  • To provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on student achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
  • To be responsible for recording progress and achievement in activities systematically and providing evidence of range and level of progress and attainment
  • To promote student empowerment in line with foundation policies and help keep students focussed on their experience
  • To support the role of parents in students' experience and contribute to/lead meetings with parents to provide constructive feedback on student progress/achievement etc.
  • To establish positive and productive working relationships with students across the foundation, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students, ensuring access to learning and content through appropriate clarification, explanation and resources
  • To support students consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • To encourage students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all students in activities
  • To promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance
  • To provide feedback to students in relation to attainment and progress
  • To support the use of technology in learning and develop students' competence and independence in its use
  • To select and prepare resources necessary to lead activities, taking account of students' interests and language and cultural backgrounds

Person Specification: Applicants will be able to demonstrate an empathy and commitment to supporting young people with special educational needs, have previous experience of teaching/supporting learning and hold a Level 2 qualification in both maths and English or be willing to work towards these qualifications. A current, clean UK driving licence must have been held for at least a year. (For full details please see attached documents)

Established in 2020 and having achieved successful status as an Independent Special School for Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Autism Spectrum Disorder, and rated as 'Good' by Ofsted in 2023, Omnia Foundation offers a unique experience for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), for 12–16-year-old boys.
