We are looking for an early years practitioner to join our team at St Mary's Playschool, Great Baddow.
Do you have a level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, QTS (or equivalent) ?
Do you have a warm, smiling face and the ability to make every child feel special?

Term time only ( Initially fixed term until July 2025)
Hours: Available sessions
8.45 - 3.30 Monday, Wednesday & Thursday

Job Title: Preschool practitioner
Main duties
We are looking for a qualified practitioner to join the existing professional and friendly team, providing high quality care for children aged 2 to 5 years.
A full and relevant level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent is essential (minimum)
Responsibilities and Duties
To provide care and education in our safe, warm and stimulating environment for all the children in our care.
To provide familiar routines, stimulating educational play and other child-based activities.
To gain knowledge and experience to contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of our early years curriculum, along with key children planning to meet individual needs and interests.
To work in partnership with parents and team members.
Qualifications and Skills - The person appointed must have:
A friendly, adaptable and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships.
Good communication skills - A good standard of both spoken and written English
A full enhanced DBS or willing to have one carried out
An enthusiastic, calm and caring nature and able to work as part of a small close team
Be very personable and feel confident in working with young children

Established in 1968, our playschool is within the church centre, next to St Mary's Church, Great Baddow. Our historic building, which was previously Great Baddow's traditional village school includes four classrooms, an indoor playroom, a sensory room, office, kitchen and hall as well as a fully enclosed wide-reaching playground.
Our aim is to provide the best possible quality care and education in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.
Our opening times are: Morning sessions - Monday - Friday 9.00 - 12.00 Lunch Club - Monday - Thursday 12.00 - 1.00 Afternoons - Monday - Thursday 1.00 - 3.30

St Mary's playschool is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS/ Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check for this role. Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them.
