Wishes to appoint a

Learning Support Assistant

Salary: Scale 4 Point 7-8

(£3,519.35 - £3,578.45 per annum plus £99.81 fringe allowance)

6 hours 15 minutes per week

1day per week - Every Friday 8:30am - 3:15pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch

39 weeks of the year - term time plus INSET days

Start Date: 15th November 2024

Doddinghurst are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who has experience in supporting children with special educational needs. The role will provide general LSA support and at times you may be required for 1:1 support with vulnerable pupils across the school. This will involve Personal Care.You will have a passion for working with pupils and assisting them on their journey. You will need to have an understanding of the subjects that you support the children in, be able to demonstrate a fair attitude and apply rules consistently. You will be resilient and have excellent de-escalation skills. The ideal candidate will be able to nurture supportive relationships and be able to demonstrate practical, hands on approach to supporting teaching.

The candidate must have a good standard of English and Mathematics and basic computer skills.

· Experience or interest in supporting pupils with a range of needs e.g. Asperger's, Autism, ADHD, speech and / or language difficulties, cerebral palsy,

· Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour

· Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs

· Experience of the KS2 curriculum

· Flexible and adaptable with timetabling and the daily routines

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to liaise with parents and relevant staff

· Personal Care

· Strong behaviour management skills
