Technology Technician at Manningtree High School
Pay Scale - Scale 4, points 7 - 8
Location: Manningtree High School, Colchester Road, Lawford, Manningtree CO11 2BW
Start Date: 7th January 2025
Hours / Week: 32.5 hours per week
Working Weeks: 39 weeks per year
Contract type: Permanent
We are looking for a Technology Technician to join our school team.
The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering engaging and exciting practical DT activities as part of a wider Technology Department team.The Technology Department at Manningtree High School comprises 6 teachers and 2 technicians. The team are friendly and hardworking and are looking forward to welcoming an enthusiastic new colleague to join them.
Duties involve:
- providing support to the teaching staff in the Technology department
- completion of mandatory Health and Safety checks
- preparation of materials for use by the students in advance of lessons
- supporting students and teaching staff during lesson delivery
- supporting all computer aided manufacturing (CAM) especially the use and maintenance of the laser cutter and 3D printer
- maintenance and inventory of tools and materials and ensuring the learning environment is clean and tidy throughout the day
The successful applicant will have good organisational, planning and time management skills. Previous experience in one of the following areas is essential: CAD/CAM, electronics, wood working (circular saw, band saw, planer-thicknesser), metal working (casting, centre lathe, milling machine).

Information about the School
Manningtree High School is a warm and welcoming learning community. We are ambitious for our students and our staff.
The school is situated close to areas of natural beauty on the Essex/Suffolk border. We have a comprehensive intake who travel from a wide area around: we are consistently oversubscribed.

The school was last inspected in 2018 and our ‘Good’ status was confirmed. We have continued to develop strengths in curriculum delivery, design and assessment since then.
