We require an enthusiastic, caring individual to join the team at Sheering Village Pre-school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early years education, be familiar with the revised EYFS framework and have a genuine love for working with young children. This role is essential in fostering a safe, engaging, and stimulating atmosphere where children can thrive and develop their social, emotional, and cognitive skills. The successful candidate will work as an effective member of the team, building relationships with other staff, the children and their parents. NVQ Level 3 in Early Years (or equivalent) is required or Level 2 with the willingness to train.
Hours will be Monday -Friday, 8.30am-12.30pm ideally however we can accommodate a 9.00am start. Job share will be considered for the right applicants. Term time only (38 weeks per year.)
Duties
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships within the setting.
Manage room behaviour by establishing clear rules and expectations while promoting positive interactions among children.
Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents regarding their child's development through the Tapestry online learning journal.
Lead activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the room and during outdoor activities.
Maintain an organised and clean learning environment that is conducive to learning.
Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the overall educational experience.
Helping with the set up and packing away of the equipment.
Experience
A qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is essential.
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or preschool setting is highly desirable.
We follow strict safeguarding procedures, references and an Enhanced DBS check will be required.

Information about the School
We are a long established pre-school which runs from our local community village hall. We are a pack away setting which operates from one large hall. We have the facilities to accommodate up to 26 children aged 2-4 years. We have the added benefit of our own purpose built outside area with a working garden attached.
