We are looking for a friendly, experienced, and enthusiastic Catering Manager who has a passion for cooking and providing high quality meals for our pupils at St Michael's C of E (VA) Junior School.
Are you already a Catering Manager or an experienced Catering Assistant looking for a new role? Either you will already have undertaken the role of Catering Manager or are experienced enough to take on the role as a promotion. Training for the right candidate will be given. Your role will include delivering the catering service, planning, preparation and presentation of food and beverages to the required standard.
Start Date: 6 January 2025 (later start date is negotiable for the right candidate)
27.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday: 8.00 am - 1.30pm, Term time only
Salary: Scale 5: Point 9 - 12 (£16,375.75 - £17,183.10 pro rata, FTE £26,409 - £27,711)
The successful candidate will become part of our friendly and hard-working team, which is dedicated to ensuring our children are safe, learn well and are well cared for.

· Have a passion for producing good food
· Have a "can do" attitude
· Have good literacy and numeracy skills
· Are educated to Level 3 in Food Safety or equivalent qualification or experience
· Can ensure the operational efficiency, planning, preparation and presentation of food and beverages to the required standard within the budget limitations as agreed with the school management
· Have extensive knowledge of hygiene and health and safety.
· Have good organisational and interpersonal skills
· Have the ability to work on your own initiative and to remain calm under pressure
· Able to cook delicious healthy balanced meals in accordance with our menus
· Have experience in leading and motivating staff
· Have experience in Menu planning
· Able to Complete food safety records
· Able to Complete food safety records
· Has experience of stock control
· Are able to ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy at all times
You will be expected to
· Understand budget control
· Undertake training as required
· Keep up to date with changes and developments in the catering industry
· Work in collaboration with other colleagues
