The Sweyne Park School is the lead school in the Rayleigh Schools Trust and works with a local primary school, providing a 0 - 19 educational experience for the local community. The successful applicant will have excellent administrative experience, the ability to manage their time effectively, an eye for detail and enjoy working as part of a team.
Particular duties are likely to include:
Providing administrative support to our SEND Teams, including, but not limited to, our Resource Base for Hearing Impaired Pupils and Learning Development Team, as well as general pupil administration, and other administrative services as required to support the school operation. The duties outlined may be varied to meet the changing demands of the school at the reasonable direction of the Headteacher.
Skills include:
- Experience of working in a busy and, at times, pressured, environment.
- The ability to work collaboratively with a range of staff
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to work accurately, with integrity, and to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and orally.
Personal skills include:
- The ability to work both independently, and as part of a team.
- The ability to work with all stakeholders in a professional manner.
- The ability to adapt to change, respond positively to challenges, and a willingness to learn.
- An understanding of the need for sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- A willingness to be flexible with all reasonable requests relating to administrative support
- Able to respond appropriately to vulnerable pupils as their alternative first point of contact
- Resilience and a sense of humour
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting visitors in a welcoming and professional manner, with counter duties as required
- Undertake training to become a First Aider
- Undertake introductory British Sign Language Skills (BSL)
- Assisting in the medical area, logging medication, and liaising with Heads of Year
Working Hours
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday for 39 weeks of the year, with 30 minutes for lunch. These are normal school days (term time) and training days. Holidays would be expected to be taken during school holidays. There is a smart dress code for staff.
Salary
£21,933.35 - £22,283.13 per annum

Welcome to The Sweyne Park School, we are a larger than average mixed, 11-18 comprehensive school. The School became an academy on 1st April 2013 and opened its Sixth Form in September 2014.
