We are looking for an qualified practitioner to work between the hours of 8.30/9am - 1.45pm Monday and Friday, 8.30/9am - 2.45pm Tuesday, 9am - 1pm Thursday, starting ASAP in our outstanding, award winning pre-school. It can fit in with someone who has children at school, and can still drop off and collect their children to and from school! Term time only! We are flexible with our hours so if you have any questions please ask!
Daily Tasks:
· Help with the set up of an outstanding enabling environment
· Teach children through a variety of different ways including play, songs, craft activities and stories, offering an appropriate level of support, challenge and stimulation.
· Support children to learn by leading their own play and by guiding them to take part in playing. Look to deliver the best possible outcomes for children.
· Become a key person, good partnership and communication with parents/carers and families.
· Guide children through their development with warm and positive interactions.
· Take appropriate action for children with special needs, e.g. diet, disability, medication.
· Advise Management of any concerns relating to children/parents, making sure confidentiality is preserved, and working within the policies and procedures at all times.
Regular Duties:
· Attend regular staff meetings and contribute as required by Management (These are arranged for all staff to attend - can be Saturday mornings if easier for childcare)
· Take part in fire drills, adhering to Health & Safety regulations.
· Participate in training.
· Work within the Pre-schools policies and procedures at all times.
Essential Qualities
· Qualified to level 2 or above in early years childcare
Possess a general understanding of the issues and inequalities often faced by children such as for reasons of their race/ethnicity, disability/ability, sex/gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age or socio/economic background
· Understand the safeguarding policies and procedures for the pre-school, and must be able to identify signs of a child at risk. Will be required to take the training for Safeguarding Level 2 and have an updated DBS check.
· Show a commitment to overcoming the barriers to inclusion.
· Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
Your Attitude & Disposition:You will be expected to behave in the following manner:
· Keep confidential any information regarding children, families and staff, which is learned whilst carrying out the role of Practitioner.
· Be patient, caring and encouraging with the children.
· Maintain pre-school standards on behaviour and be consistent and fair with the children.
· Be approachable and welcoming to parents and children.
· Be supportive to Manager/Deputy Manager and the rest of the team in carrying out the work of pre-school.
· Be flexible and cooperative in carrying out tasks and coping with changes at pre-school.
· Ensure to disclose any convictions/ cautions, court orders, reprimands and warnings which affect your suitable to work in the setting to the Manager/ Deputy Manager.
· Be an excellent role model to children, parents/carers, and other staff members.
Please be aware that we are a set up pre-school, lifting equipment will be required!
Car essential-as no public transport.
£11.80 an hour
Part time -Will fit around school time hours! Term time only!
