MIDDAY ASSISTANT - Required asap
11.55 - 1.20pm Monday to Friday, term time only
Scale 1 Point 2 £12.26 per hr
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to join our lunchtime team of Midday Assistants to supervise children during the lunch break (11.55 a.m. to 1.20 p.m. daily).
Your role would involve
· assisting children with selecting their meals
· clearing tables
· maintaining good behaviour and conduct
· administering basic first aid
· leading games and activities with the children on the playground
Our successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills and will enjoy working with children and as part of a team. In return we offer training, well-behaved, eager learners and a friendly and supportive team of staff.

Information about the School
Mersea Island School currently has 380 pupils aged 2-11, this includes a nursery with capacity for up to 48 children. It is the only school on the island, serving a closely knit community. The school is located on Mersea Island, off the coast of Essex and close to Colchester. The area surrounding the school in the town of West Mersea is semi-rural. The island is famous for its oyster cultivation and traditional fishing boats, and has a history of sailing. Pupils derive from a very mixed social background, and many of the pupils have parents and grandparents who attended the school.
