Core Purpose:

To carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with School policies and procedures and statutory requirements. To provide support for students with educational needs in a variety of learning environments

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a fantastic department which is well staffed and well resourced and focused on both improving outcomes and developing a love of all things Science.

With the support of our extensive pastoral team, all of our staff are instrumental in driving forwards Hylands rapid school improvement journey supporting our young people to succeed personally and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the smooth running of the Science Department.
Ensure the curriculum intent, implementation and impact is adhered to, aligned with Hylands and TKAT principles.
Department data is created, monitored, analysed so that progress and attainment is understood and necessary intervention is implemented effectively across all key stages to maximising outcomes.
Develop all the subjects in the Department and ensure that capacity is created to address any poor teaching.
To ensure the learning environment is richly resourced and stimulating.
To support all teachers within the Department.
To use the line management process appropriately to ensure the professional development of staff in line with the school aims, goals and overall growth.
