The school is in a very positive place in its journey with a "good" Ofsted judgement in summer 2023. We wish to appoint a candidate who has the qualities to lead and manage a large staff team to enable all members of our school community to 'live full lives' and achieve their best.
The start date for the post is April, however a September start may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
We are seeking a candidate who:
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Is supportive of the Headteacher in driving the school forward
- Can inspire, support and lead in partnership with our children, our staff, parents and governors
- Is passionate about children's learning with a high regard for the personal achievement of each child
- Is hard working, well organised and highly motivated
- Can demonstrate a clear understanding of effective teaching and learning with high expectations of pupil attainment
- Is dedicated to maintaining consistent approaches to behaviour management
We can offer:
- A strong, committed team of staff who provide a rich, meaningful learning environment where children enjoy learning and working together to achieve their best
- A practical, experiential and creative curriculum
- A well resourced school with extensive grounds including a copse where Forest School takes place, an outside swimming pool, a large well-stocked library and ICT suite
- A supportive SEN, Safeguarding, Family Liaison and Pastoral Care Team who strive to ensure that children's needs are met and support staff with their expertise
- A knowledgeable and experienced Governing Board who get the balance between support and challenge right
- A strong and well established partnership with nine other local schools (DEEP)
- Motivated and engaged children with a calm family feel to the school
- A partnership with St Mary's Church and close links between church and school
Dunmow St. Mary's is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to two appropriate references and an enhanced DBS check.
As part of the application, the personal statement should be linked to the job description and the person specification. Please view our prospectus here
Visits to the school are welcomed and strongly encouraged.
Please contact Mrs Helen Bright in the school office to arrange a visit.
