We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring learning support assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team.
Hours: 32.5 per week 8.30 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. (half hour lunch) Monday - Friday (Actual Salary £18,457)
or
Hours: 25.0 hours per week 8.30 a.m. - 1.30 p.m. Monday - Friday (Actual Salary £14,197)
Initial contract - 2 year fixed (potential to extend dependent upon successful completion of probationary period and ongoing budgets).
The successful candidate will need:
· An understanding of the school curriculum
· Be able to work with individuals or small groups of children under the direction of the teaching staff
· A supportive and caring nature
· A commitment to helping children fulfil their potential
· Qualifications such as NVQ 2 (minimum) or a certificate in Learning Support
· Good organisational and communication skills
· A commitment to the safeguarding of children
· The ability to use ICT
· Motivation, flexibility and a team player

Information about the School
West Leigh Infant School is a large, popular infant school, located in the historic fishing village of Leigh-on-Sea. Our school is held in high esteem by our community, eleven years ago we celebrated our centenary and there are strong links with local families.
'Together we aim high, work hard, have fun' - our school is a welcoming, friendly, caring school with happy, confident children who enjoy learning and achieving well. In addition, our pupils are fortunate to be able to walk to the sea, visit local churches and Belfairs Park as well as enjoying a wide range of coach and rail trips. We also benefit from an on-site swimming pool. We are a maintained school with a 4 form entry teaching children in the age range 4 - 7 years.
